Volunteer Opportunities:


Volunteer – Play and Grow Program

The role of a volunteer in the Play and Grow Program is to provide developmental assistance to children in program under the direct supervision of EPU’s professional staff.  Assist in all aspects of the Play and Grow Program as directed.

Education Requirements:  
High School Diploma or equivalent.  Must be 18 years of age or older.

Individuals who have experience working with young children in and educational or therapeutic setting and have worked with parents and children with special needs or developmentally delayed are encouraged to volunteer.

Phycial Demands:
Volunteers will be expected to work with young children on the floor.  Must be able to sit on the floor, bend, stoop, crawl, stand and lift up to 20 lbs.  Volunteers help with preparing foods, serving foods and craft activities.

We are in need of volunteers that are available 2-3 hours a day, 1-2 days a week.  Volunteers are needed between the hours of 9 am – 11:30 am Monday through Friday; or 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.  Volunteers looking for a long term commitment are strongly encouraged.

All Play and Grow volunteer must provide a negative Tb test and clear a Livescan.

Fiesta de los Niños – Committee Member

We are currently seeking volunteers to help plan, organize and solicit auction items for our yearly fund raising event.  Committee members meet regularly on designated Fridays to review current progress.  If you are interested in becoming a Committee Member please send an email with contact information to hr@epuchildren.org.  Indicate in the email that you are interested in becoming a Fiesta Committee Member.

 Fiesta de los Niños

Our 27th Fiesta de los Niño’s, a celebration of food, music, family and friends under the stars on a warm summer evening. Fiesta traditions include Marimba music, Spanish dancers, and homemade tortillas will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Park at Park Place on the River Bluffs of Palm and Nees. We expect more than 600 people to attend.

Community supporters like you contribute to our work through volunteering at the event, donating live and silent auction items and attending our annual Fiesta. The event represents our single annual community fundraiser that provides funding critical to our programs serving children and families with special needs.
